Our Team

David Selig
CEO & Founder

David has over twenty years experience in M&A, management consulting and financial services.   For Advice Dynamics’ buy-side and sell-side clients, David serves as a champion and advocate as he shepherds them through their complex transactions.  Mr. Selig has authored two whitepapers on the subject of mergers & acquisitions, one each for Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services and for Schwab Advisor Services.  He is regularly quoted in the press, including Dow Jones Newswires, Financial Planning Magazine, OnWallStreet, and RIABiz.  Mr. Selig is a regularly featured speaker on mergers, acquisitions, and succession at conferences and industry events around the country.
Prior to founding Advice Dynamics Partners, David worked for Pershing Advisor Solutions, a division of Bank of New York Mellon, where he provided consulting and asset custody solutions to registered investment advisors.  Mr. Selig also worked for Deloitte Consulting in the 1990s and for technology startups in the early part of the 2000s.

David holds an MBA in Strategy and Management of Organizations from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and a BA from University of California at Santa Barbara.


Frank Sperling
Senior Advisor

Frank has over 25 years experience advising organizations on the successful delivery of information technology, marketing, and financial management projects. Frank advises our clients on best practices around post-transaction integration.  His experience also includes acquisition candidate identification, pre-merger due diligence efforts, and post-merger systems and organization integration in the financial services industry. 

In the post-merger integration space, he encourages holistic stakeholder involvement, ongoing communication, up-front expectation setting, and process mapping coupled with aggressive, yet realistic timelines to ensure successful project outcomes.

Frank received his MBA degree and his Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.  He holds a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute. 


Jon Goldstein
Senior Advisor

Jon is an experienced senior executive with over twenty five years background in technology, venture capital & private equity.  Jon is the Managing Director of Northern Mill Associates, a transaction advisory firm focusing on technology, financial services, and healthcare services.  Jon’s client engagements include capital fundraising, corporate divestitures, generational succession planning, investment advisory services to family offices and private equity firms, and corporate M&A.  Previously, Jon was a Partner at Catamount Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm. There he made primary investments in early stage technology companies, and served on many corporate Boards of Directors.

Prior to Catamount Ventures, Jon was Vice President of Sales & Services at Grassroots Enterprise, a technology startup focused on PR and political engagement. Before Grassroots, Jon was Managing Director, Asia/Pacific & Japan for Remedy Corporation. In that role, Jon was responsible for all sales, marketing, services, and localization engineering for the Asia/Pacific and Japan regions. Jon began his career as a sales executive at Oracle Corporation.

Jon holds a BA degree in Government from Claremont McKenna College.
